Cleaning of installation reference surface
Before installing the slew bearing crane, the crane mount must be thoroughly cleaned of paint, rust and burrs. Use industrial alcohol to clean the surface and ensure that the installation flatness error does not exceed 0.15mm to prevent deformation of the support due to uneven base.

Positioning of soft belt
Look for the “S” mark on the end face of the inner or outer ring of the bearing, which represents the soft zone of the raceway quenching. During installation, this area must be placed in a non-load area or a non-frequent operation area, usually perpendicular to the maximum load direction of the crane.

Bolt pre-tightening sequence
Do not tighten the bolts in a circular sequence. High-strength bolts must be used and tightened in 3 steps according to a 180-degree symmetrical star sequence to reach 30%, 80% and 100 of the specified torque respectively. Finally, check all bolts to ensure uniform tightening force.

Tooth side clearance adjustment
After the installation is completed, the meshing gap between the gear and the pinion must be checked. Measure at 3 evenly distributed points on the circumference to ensure that the flank clearance is between 0.25 and 0.40mm, and apply an appropriate amount of grease on the tooth surface to test whether the contact spot is centered.
