SLEWING RINGS FOR ROTATING MACHINERY
industrial turntable bearing
SWBTEC supplies slewing ring bearings that support a rotating machine platform while carrying axial force, radial force, and overturning moment. Compare a compact gearless ball design with a crossed roller design, then send your load case and mounting drawing for a model review.
Crossed roller slewing bearing
A bearing for the rotating platform
An industrial turntable bearing connects a rotating structure to its stationary base. Its two rings and rolling elements allow rotation while transferring vertical load, side load, and the moment created when a load acts away from the rotation axis. The surrounding frame, bolts, and drive determine how those forces enter the bearing.
SWBTEC’s products on this page are slewing rings for equipment such as machinery tables, sorting carousels, and agricultural rotating assemblies. The search term also covers compact swivel plates and complete pallet turntables; those products have different interfaces and capacity definitions. For a machine design, identify the bearing itself and the structure that will mount it.
Choose the rolling element and drive interface
Start with the load combination and available mounting envelope. A single-row ball slewing ring can be a compact choice where a low-friction, lighter-duty arrangement fits the machine. A crossed roller ring uses alternating roller orientations to carry combined loads and can be considered when overturning stiffness or a compact roller arrangement matters. Compare actual model data under the same load case before choosing between them.
| Decision | Gearless ball ring | Crossed roller ring |
|---|---|---|
| Rolling elements | Single row of balls | Alternating cylindrical rollers |
| SWBTEC product shown | Slewing Bearing Without Gear | Cross Roller Slewing Bearing |
| Drive interface | No integral ring gear; define a separate drive or positioning method | Catalog includes gearless, external-gear, and internal-gear versions |
| First check | Combined load, mounting diameter, and drive plan | Combined load, mounting stiffness, accuracy, and gear version |

Send the operating loads and mounting drawing
Record the axial force, radial force, and overturning moment that occur at the same time for each operating condition. Include startup, braking, shock, and parked conditions where they change the controlling load. A single “maximum load” number cannot show how the bearing and its bolts share a moment load.
Send the available outside and inside diameters, height limit, bolt-circle and hole details, and which ring rotates. Add rotational speed or oscillation angle, cycles or duty time, required life, ambient conditions, and any accuracy or backlash target. For a geared version, include the pinion and drive arrangement. SWBTEC can then compare a specific bearing model against the relevant load and mounting conditions.
For replacement work, provide the original part number, machine model, controlled drawing, and measured interfaces. Matching outside diameter alone does not establish interchangeability when hole positions, gear data, ring height, or internal clearance differ.
Design the connection around the bearing
The bearing needs a rigid, flat support on both rings so the mounting structure distributes load as assumed in the design check. Confirm the bolt grade, clamp length, tightening method, and access for installation. If the selected version has an integral gear, check pinion position, tooth contact, backlash, and gear lubrication on the actual assembly.
Plan access to lubrication points and seals before the surrounding guards and drive are finalized. Lubricant, relubrication interval, and inspection limits depend on the selected model, duty cycle, temperature, and contamination; the operating instructions for the ordered bearing should set those values.
Manufacturing and inspection records
Ningguo Swbtec Industry Co.,Ltd manufactures the SWBTEC slewing bearing range. Its documented process covers ring machining, raceway induction hardening, hole and gear machining where applicable, assembly, and final inspection. Inspection items can include overall dimensions, mounting holes, axial and radial clearance, ring runout, raceway hardness, and free rotation.
Ask for the drawing revision, applicable inspection items, and the report linked to the ordered model and serial or batch identity. The inspection scope for a gearless ring differs from a geared ring, so the purchase specification should identify the checks that apply to the chosen configuration.
