excavator slew ring replacement
SWBTEC supplies excavator slewing bearings for replacement projects. Send the machine serial number, original bearing or OEM part number, and mounting and gear details so the replacement can be checked against the actual machine.
Use the guide below to separate bearing faults from other swing-system problems and prepare a usable request for a replacement ring.

Check the swing fault before replacing the ring
Grinding, knocking, uneven swing and increasing movement between the upper and lower structures can point to bearing damage. They can also come from the drive pinion, mounting bolts, reducer or supporting frame. Measure play at the points and in the machine position specified by the excavator manufacturer before condemning the ring.
| Observed symptom | Check alongside the ring |
|---|---|
| Rocking or excess play | Bearing clearance, bolt preload and movement in the mounting structures |
| Knock or rough spot during swing | Full-circumference gear condition, pinion contact and lubrication |
| Heavy or irregular rotation | Raceway contamination, seals, mounting flatness and drive components |
If the machine develops abrupt noise, impact or a sudden rise in swing resistance, stop operation and have the fault assessed before returning it to work.
Match the replacement to the excavator
Start with the machine make, full model and serial number, then identify the old bearing or OEM part number. Match the ring height, inner and outer diameters, mounting-hole count and pitch circles, and the gear position, tooth count and module against a drawing or measured old part.
Model names alone may hide different ring versions. SWBTEC’s excavator list, for example, separates Komatsu PC60-6 variants with 76 and 80 teeth and PC200-7 variants with 92 and 110 teeth. Check the exact machine revision and gear data before treating a catalog reference as interchangeable.
Photographs of the old ring markings, both mounting faces and the drive gear help resolve uncertain references. A marked drawing is the clearest basis for a final fit review.
Excavator slewing bearing for replacement
SWBTEC lists excavator slewing bearings for multiple Hitachi, Komatsu, Caterpillar, Volvo and other machine references. The listing helps locate a candidate; the final ring configuration must match the machine and the measured interface.

What the replacement job must verify
Replacing an excavator swing bearing requires a controlled lift of the upper structure. The repair team must isolate stored energy, secure the machine against movement and use a lifting and support plan rated for the upper structure before separating it from the undercarriage.
- Inspect the interfaces. After removal, check both mounting faces for flatness, cracks, corrosion and damaged holes; inspect the drive pinion and lubrication path at the same time.
- Fit the new ring to its instructions. Confirm ring orientation and the marked soft zone, use approved fasteners and tightening procedure, and set gear mesh to the machine and bearing instructions. A torque value from another excavator is not a substitute for the applicable service specification.
- Verify the full rotation. Check gear contact and backlash around the circumference, lubricate the raceway and gear points, then run low-risk no-load checks before a controlled return to working loads.
Record the measured fit, bolt work and trial-run findings so the machine has a baseline for later inspections.
Inspection evidence and a comparable quote
SWBTEC’s product information describes checks on ring dimensions, raceway and gear hardness, clearance, runout and turning condition. Ask for the inspection items and report tied to the ordered ring when these records are part of your purchase requirements.
The price of a replacement ring depends on its diameter and section, gear geometry, material and heat treatment, tolerances, quantity and delivery terms. Compare quotations using the same drawing revision, inspection scope, packing and shipping basis; otherwise the totals may describe different supply packages.
For a useful quotation, send the excavator make, full model and serial number; old ring or OEM part number; drawing or measured dimensions; required quantity; destination; and any required inspection documents. Include photos of damage if the original part number is unreadable.
