slewing ring turntable bearing
SWBTEC supplies slewing ring bearings for rotating equipment that must carry axial force, radial force and overturning moment at one support. Compare excavator replacements, single and double row ball structures, and an external gear option.
Send your operating loads and mounting drawing to identify a suitable bearing structure and interface.

How a slewing ring supports a rotating assembly
A slewing ring, also called a turntable bearing in industrial equipment, connects a stationary structure to a rotating structure. Rolling elements between its inner and outer rings carry force along the rotation axis, force across that axis and a moment that tends to tilt the assembly.
The bearing's rated capacity must be checked with the loads that occur together. Its mounting bolts and support structure carry those loads onward, so bearing diameter alone cannot establish whether a model suits the machine.
Choose the bearing structure and gear arrangement
Start with the simultaneous axial force, radial force and overturning moment in each operating case. Add shock events and the motion pattern: continuous rotation, intermittent indexing or oscillation. Those conditions guide the structural choice before dimensions are finalized.
| Candidate | When to evaluate it | Main constraint to check |
|---|---|---|
| Single row ball | Combined loads in an assembly where a compact bearing section matters. | Confirm the load point against the chosen model's raceway and bolt capacity. |
| Double row ball | A single row cannot carry the required load within the available diameter, and the assembly can accept a taller, heavier section. | Confirm each load case and the mounting structure; two rows do not remove the need for a model check. |
| Excavator slewing bearing | Replacement or OEM design for an excavator swing assembly. | Match the machine and original bearing interface, including the gear and bolt patterns. |
Choose the gear location with the drive layout. External teeth engage a pinion outside the ring; internal teeth engage a pinion within the ring opening. A gearless ring requires another way to drive the rotating structure. For a geared bearing, check the tooth geometry, pinion position and drive loads along with the bearing load rating.
SWBTEC slewing ring products
The excavator product page lists compatible machine models. The other three pages publish bearing model and dimension tables; use them with your operating loads and interface drawing to request a matching configuration.

Confirm dimensions and mounting interfaces
A replacement bearing must match the actual mounting and drive interfaces. Send the controlled drawing or original part number, then compare it with measurements from the machine. Wear on a removed ring can change measured dimensions.
| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Bearing envelope | Outside and inside diameters, overall height and available clearance. |
| Mounting connection | Inner and outer bolt circle diameters, hole counts and sizes, mounting face geometry and fastener specification. |
| Drive interface | Internal, external or no gear; for a geared ring, the module, tooth count, pinion geometry and center distance. |
| Operating interface | Which ring rotates, seal exposure and access to lubrication points. |
Mounting face flatness and support stiffness affect how the load spreads through the raceway. Check them against the requirements for the selected bearing before installation.
Specify inspection and acceptance records
For your order, specify the dimensions and hole pattern to record, along with axial and radial clearance, ring runout and rotation condition. A geared bearing can also require tooth measurements and gear runout. Agree on the report format and serial or batch reference so the measurements identify the delivered part.
Send the information needed for a useful quote
Bearing geometry, gear machining, materials, heat treatment, quantity, inspection scope and delivery terms all affect price. Define these items in the same technical scope when comparing quotes.
- Application and loads: Equipment model or project, simultaneous axial and radial forces, overturning moment, shock events and intended service.
- Motion and life: Rotation speed or oscillation angle, operating cycle and target life.
- Mounting and drive: Drawing or original part number, bearing envelope, bolt patterns, rotating ring and mating pinion data.
- Order scope: Quantity, required inspection documents, destination and requested delivery date.
